Delete your Knigash account

This page explains how to delete your Knigash account and the data attached to it. Knigash is published by Knigash on Google Play and the App Store.

You can do it yourself inside the app, or ask us to do it for you. Either way it is free, and it does not require you to install or reinstall anything.

Option 1 — delete it in the app

1. Open Knigash and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to Delete account.
4. Type your email address to confirm, then tap Permanently delete my account.

Deletion takes effect immediately. You are signed out and cannot sign in again.

Option 2 — ask us to delete it

1. Email [email protected] from the address your account uses.
2. Use the subject line Account deletion request.
3. We confirm the request comes from the account owner, delete the account and reply to confirm. This takes up to 30 days, and normally far less.

What is deleted, what is kept, and for how long

Why expense records are kept

Receipts and expense records belong to the organization they were created in, not to the individual who entered them. They are that business's accounting records — frequently records it is legally required to keep, and which its accountant may already have processed — so one person leaving cannot erase them. Once your account is deleted, those records are no longer linked to any identifiable person.

If you believe a specific record must also be erased, write to [email protected] and we will assess the request against our legal obligations.

Deleting an entire organization

If you own a business on Knigash and want the whole organization removed, including its expense records and receipts, email [email protected] from the owner account and say so explicitly.
